I'm not usually one who beats the BFS out drum but now Besiktas are out of the champions league it might be possible to turn Slaven's head-especially with the OS looming. Was impressed how his team played . A real opportunity to change the culture of the club. Be brave Daves!!

Who's having a dig? It's just facing up to facts and reality and keeping it all in perspective.
Just because we play well against everybody's relagation favourites doesn't mean Allardyce has changed or his tactics have changed or we will compete with the teams above us. When I see a bit of reason and rationality behind the clamouring for our 'changed' style then there might be something to think about but so far there is none.
The reality was enforced when we lost to Sheffield Utd. 1 step forward, 2 steps back as far as i'm concerned.
And yes he will be with us all season and yes we will see how much he has changed by the end of it. I reckon he'll be gone either way when the contract ends and I would like to see Bilic here.

Ronald Koeman has re-built a team at Southampton torn apart when he arrived. He seems to have done a miracle job in the space of a few weeks.
Let's see if the arrogant fat man who boasts " I know how to win football matches." can outwit this green to the PL Dutchman on Saturday.

His contract with Besiktas, I believe, is up at the same time as Sam's is with us.

Interesting to hear Wenger's praise for Besiktas.
I know he only he does it when he wins but he seemed genuinely relieved to get past a well prepared organised opponent.
Just seen Ba's miss and they really should have got through with that goal at the end.
We should seize on the opportunity that that has given us.
16 days after the Southampton game til we play Hull.

Allardyce has changed nothing. He plays 4-5-1 with a packed midfield and we've won 1 game against a team falling apart with a wet behind the ears manager. The only changes there were forced on him by injury.
We lost a dull game that he managed with the same tactics as last year - get in front (what that means is in his own head), sit back in the second half and 'hit' them on the counter attack. We don't have the players with pace or ability to play counter attacking football. And this was Sheffield Utd. 3rd Division and mortal enemies. Embarrassing.
Those who think he can change credit him with more brain cells than he has. Those who think he already has are either paid by him or taking a ton of medication.

BFS wont change.Mr Anon might has rose tinted glasses but the rest of us don't!
There is a marked difference between losing to Arsenal when you are a Turkish team and us losing to Sheff Utd or enduring last seasons rubbish.
I doubt though we will get him because our owners don't have a good track record of managerial appointments and if they didn't sack Sam last season or at the end of the season I don't see them sacking him soon.
I think we're stuck with the footballing dinosaur.

Got us up, kept us up. Swallowed his pride, abandoned his comfort zone to play a system designed to keep us happy. He has done more good than bad and deserves another full season. Let's see what he can do with a balanced squad. Irons!

I agree... unless things go completely pear shaped ( and despite last night I reckon we will have a very boring and safe mid table season) we will be stuck with BFS until his contract expires in May.
Bilic for next season would be great and I hope the Daves start sorting that asap.
